Turmeric Paste

​

There is a range of benefits of feeding turmeric to animals and people.

Please, do some of your own research on the benefits of turmeric.

It’s up to you how you prepare your paste.  Essentially, you need the 3 basic ingredients to help with the absorption to gain some turmeric benefits.

Please note:  Commercial capsules/pills that have high levels of curcumin – 95% are not recommended for animals.

 

Observe how you or your companion responds and adjust the dose accordingly.

There is no Set Dose but here is a guide.

Start small.  It’s a gentle way to introduce the paste.

 

NOTE:  If surgery is going to be scheduled, stop taking turmeric 2 weeks advance as turmeric thins the blood.

Portions to take:

​

For Humans:  Start with ½ tsp 2x per day

For Dogs:  Start with ¼ tsp 2x per day.

For Cats:  Start with 1/8 tsp once a day .

For Horses:  Most people start off with 1 tsp twice a day.

Then gradually increase the dosage each week to a healthy level.

 

For a dog ¼ tsp per 10lbs daily is effective.

¼ tsp x 4 = 1 Teaspoon

3 Teaspoons = 1 Tablespoon

 

Turmeric Paste

​

Mix    ½   Cup Water

With   ¼   Cup Turmeric

Simmer on Medium until thickened.  Do not boil!

Let cool:

Add;

 1 tsp oil of your choice:  Olive, Coconut, Linseed, Flax seed.

½ tsp fresh ground pepper

Why add pepper?

​

Pepper tells the liver,  “ Don’t flush this out of the body”!

The pepper increases the Bioavailability by 2000%.
